Let the poor soul RIP

I usually dont give much importance into hollywood celebreity headlines, but the last three weeks, two incidents managed to grab my attention a lot and disturbed me quite.

The first one was the legal battle on Nicole Smiths baby and her fortune. I admit that Nicole smith did not have one of the planned life styles and probably made tons of mistakes when she was alive, but the media should give it a rest atleast when she is dead. The boyfriends, her estranged mother and late night show hosts all make trying to make the most out of this. The attrocious thing here is that her body is still being kept from being given a proper funeral. How bad can this get ? And where is the poor baby of hers, who doesnt know what is happening around her or where her mother is. Sometimes I feel that the media in this country play too much role in peoples lives and most of the time on the negative side. I am a fan of Jay Leno but his jokes on Nicole Smith is becoming unbearable day by day. Jay..please wake up. You can do better than that. You have tons of people alive, to make fun of.

The other one is the papparazzi and media craziness over Britney Spears head shaving episodes and the various stints in the rehab. Again, the frenzy over someones personal life however public figure they are, is simply disgusting. Why do we become so involved in someones life even when they are not going through their best of the times ? Shouldn't the media give them the space during these times, let them come back from their woes and then do all to point and shoots ?

Taxes done, FAFSA done..waiting for $$$$

After some boring weeks filling paper work and photo copying W2s and 1040s and filling the FAFSA application form for the 3rd time, I am done applying for $$$ from the schools. Looks like I am eligible for subsidized money. Thats always a good news. And my son brought some extra income into the family in the form of child credits. Thats good news too.

But the wicked weather in the New England area has been creating health havoc in our family. My son developed a serious case of ecsema and has been having a terrible time with it. He baby skin is all bruised and broken and it breaks my heart to see him in pain every night. To make things worse, we need to take an allergy test for a 3 month old baby where they would poke 36 needles in his back and find out what all the stuff around us is making him allergic. I am praying to God, to make things easier for the little dude and most importantly make him atleast non food allergic and no pet allergies. It is the last thing I need to hear that my son is allergic to my beloved pet dog, who has been our sunshine for the past 6 years. You should never have to choose between your pet and your kid. What would anybody do here ??

Snow storm on a valentines day

What a day. Boston is receiving its first major snow storm this winter, which I should celebrate coz this gives a window to go skiing but the timing can not be any worse. I had to take my son to a specialist doctor for his digestion issues, the appointment I had to wait for 2 months, and that day was today. I decided to try my luck and drive anyway but half way down, I could not see anything on the road and my Nissan Altima was skidding every 100 feet or so. Had it been 3 months ago, before my son was born, I would have driven through the storm, but now I dont want take any chances, thanks to the little dude who completely depends on my driving skills. What a change a little dude can make in your life ?

FAFSA is a pain

So far I thought only the application process was painful and long. But atleast they are interesting. The work I am doing now, including getting transcripts, applying for FAFSA pin (thrice..twice they never issued me one..dont know why?) and getting all financial documents ready, filling tonsa applications on other scholarships etc etc..The list goes on..

The temparature outside today is a balmy 26F(-3C) Much better than yesterday's 14F. But since I am holding on to my new years resolution of getting fit before school, I am going to the gymn today. An hour of exercises followed by walking up and down with my newborn son should burn enough calories for a day...ciao..

Damn the Colts...

The weekend was so good until the last minutes of the play off game between Patriots and Colts. We were so winning until the last 2 minutes..ugggggghhh..I dont have so much problem loosing but only when we were poised to win from the beginning and the win was snatched from our hands in the last two minutes..But great game indeed.and Colts did play very well and Manning was amazing with his long plays.

I have started planning my trip to Europe this summer. I am not sure where and when we would go but I would like to go in a low season. I have experienced both low season and high season travel in Europe and believe me when I tell this, Please do not go to Europe in high season. Every place is crowded, everything is expensive and you will hate the heat.

On the home front, my infant son had a tough weekend with all the collic in the world affecting the little one's sleep. I cant wait for him to get to the phase where he doesnt have all the digestive problems and can just belch away his gas like grown men do. I hope by the time we start school in Fall, he will be a good baby and can take to new people and surroundings well. That being said, I dont have any issues on that front about my sweet little dog, my first son. He is so so people friendly, I am sure my school friends are going to just love him.

Just wanted to start the Monday with some whining..All done..Now let me start my official week..Go to work.

Have a good week fellas..

New Years Resolutions..

Since my inaugural post, I have not started my posting at all. The reason, my newborn son. He has been in some sort of pain for the past six weeks and nothing we do seems to soothe him. But my really-sweet wife (promise she doesn't have time to read blogs, so my salutation is genuine) has been trying to give me enough sleep time so I can work the next day. So I should blog more frequently. That's my first new years resolution.
I also decided that since I am starting school this Fall, I should start working out again and if not six pack abs, at least a couple would suffice so I could tuck in my shirt. I have kept up this promise for the last three days working out for an hour each day. I feel good already.
As far as work front was concerned, I have decided to focus there more, since I will be here only for the next 8 months and I wanted to leave with a good impression. My super sweet Manager, a very nice man who was very supportive during the rough times with my son, will be little disappointed with the news of my leaving, but I sincerely hope he understands my need for a change of direction.
And I will do couple of trips before the school, one inside the U.S and one international.

I think this will constitute enough for the first blog. Cheers all.

My First Post

hurray..i got myself a BLOG..been thinking about it for a while..hmm..just over two years. But as much I believe in couch-potato-lame-ass theory for not doing it earlier, I also believe in a impetus for every step I make. The impetus here are two things that I have been waiting for a while..hmmm..just over two years..The events that made me share my world with the world are the birth of my first child (I consider our small, cute, loving lhasa apso dog to be the heir to our throne, my parents un-willing) and the admission into the business school of my choice.. After years of toiling, disappointments and crying on my wife's shoulders, I finally can say, " I made it".

I will from Jan 1st, 2007 try to blog important steps in my life, as I try my new roles as a father, as a matriculating b-school student, b-school student, and b-school alumni.

Happy New Year folks..
